What Yelp announced
On 10 August 2026, Yelp published on its official blog that ChatGPT users can now book a table or join a restaurant's waitlist through Yelp without leaving the conversation. If the guest's plans change, the reservation can later be adjusted through Yelp as well.
According to the post, the feature is available immediately and is for the US and Canada, where Yelp speaks of thousands of restaurants. It builds on an earlier connection between Yelp and ChatGPT, through which reviews, ratings, photos and venue details are already visible in the conversation.
What Yelp says about restaurants
Yelp claims that restaurants using its guest management system get access to the largest consumer network for restaurants in the US. This is the company's own claim. In a footnote, it is based on Comscore data for 2024, compared only with other "Reserve with Google" integrations, not with all restaurant platforms. We have not verified it independently and we do not accept it as a fact about the results of any particular restaurant.
The post gives no prices, no fees for restaurants and no timetable for other countries. So nothing can be said about the costs, or about whether and when something similar will reach Europe.
What has not been announced
The post itself does not mention OpenTable and Resy as partners in this integration. If you see elsewhere that they take part too, check the original source before repeating it.
Nothing has been announced for Bulgaria. For Bulgarian venues, this news changes neither how guests make reservations nor what you need to do.
Why it is still worth knowing
The news points to a direction: guests increasingly ask their question in a conversation with an assistant rather than in a search engine, and expect the answer to include opening hours, the menu and a free table in one place. An assistant can only show what it finds about your venue. If the menu on Google, on Facebook and on your website has different prices, that shows.
We cannot know which assistant will show what for a particular venue, and nobody can promise you a place in the answers. But the basics are in your hands.
What you can do this week
- Read your menu the way a guest sees it: are the prices the same in the menu on your website, in your map listing and on social media?
- Check the opening hours and the reservations phone number everywhere they are published.
- Make sure the allergens and seasonal dishes are up to date where a guest is most likely to look for them.
- Choose one person who changes prices in one place first and then copies them everywhere.
- Decide how you take reservations at the moment, and whether the guest understands how to make one: by phone, through a form or in another way.
Where ISKA Menu fits in
If your menu is in one place, it is easier to maintain. In ISKA Menu, changes are made from the portal or from your phone, stay a draft until published, and the link to the menu stays the same. The guest opens it in the browser, without an app. The free plan is for a basic menu in Bulgarian; the price of the paid plans is on the pricing page.
Table reservations are available in ISKA Restaurant · Pro, on request. This news does not mean that ISKA connects to Yelp or ChatGPT, and no such connection is claimed.
